One of the reasons the
parents are hesitant to bring their kids during a travel is because they are
unpredictable. Any parent would not want to feel uncomfortable and ashamed
knowing that their children are annoying the other passengers on the
plane. Your journey does not have to be that stressful for you so long as
you already anticipate possible situations. One of the best ways to deal with
your kids is to keep them entertained. Below are some of the simple ways
that will work for them.
Pack small things that
can distract them. You can bring a separate carry-on where you can put
the entertainment. This includes snacks like lollipop and candies, small
toys, stickers, crayons, coloring book, books, gadget and others. Your
children may be busy with sightseeing at the beginning of the travel, but they
will surely get bored and look for something else after a while. Be
ready with all the distractions that you can possibly bring.
Take part in
playing. This is an opportunity to make up for those times that you were
not able to get involved on your child’s playtime. Think of simple
and fun games that you can do while you are seated. This will make
your child smile.
Share the memories.
Children are fond of stories, whether real or not, so tell them stories.
Try to recall some stories from your own childhood or you may be creative
enough to invent your own. You will be surprised to witness your child
telling his own story or he may be asking you to share more.
Get up. If your
child shows signs of not being comfortable for having seated for a long period,
you can get up and take a short walk along the aisle. This is permitted
as long as you orient your child not to bother the other passengers and make
sure to accompany your child. You may also go to the washroom and do
little stretches or change diaper.
